YDU and Sow Good Now Partner for Additional Youth Athletic Training and Mentoring

As an established provider of mentored activities for the children of Chester, Eddystone and Upland, Youth Development United has been identified as a valued partner of Sow Good Now.

Sow Good Now, based in Newtown Square, pairs high school and college athletes with children from under-served communities in order to “share time, talents, treasures, and ties through sports.”

The relationship between the two organizations kicked off in February 2024, when Sow Good Now facilitated a karate lesson for the children of Youth Development United.

This past weekend, Sow Good Now hosted a swim lesson run by Malvern Prep students, followed by lunch for all. Nearly 30 youth attended, and also received a bathing suit, goggles and flip-flops. Sow Good Now also provided a bus that departed from Chester High School, making transportation convenient for attendees.

Attending families gave the following feedback:

  • “It was wonderful. And I really appreciated the time taking out to help my 2 autistic sons in the pool.”

  • “It was great! My children asked me when is next event!”

  • “My grandson, Jacob, enjoyed the helpers who spent time and shared their talent of swimming with him. They were kind and friendly with the students and Jacob learned to breathe properly as swimming.”

  • “Keep up the great job. My family was very grateful for all you do and the one on one feel. Thanks.”

The partnership will continue with a tennis clinic and a football clinic in June.
