YDU Provides Fresh Fruit and Fun at "DelcoGives, Chester Creates" Block Party

About Delco Gives!

The hope is that everyone who cares about Delaware County gives in the 24-hour Delco Gives window. Please consider making a donation at https://www.delcogives.org/organizations/youth-development-united-chester-upland-youth-soccer before 7pm on May 9, or at https://www.youthdevunited.org/donate anytime. Thank you for your support!

On May 8 from 4-8pm, Chester’s Avenue of the States business district was transformed into a party! There, Youth Development United hosted a street soccer challenge, free fruit giveaway (in partnership with The Grocery Outlet of Sharon Hill) and other fun.

This event was a celebration of all the organizations that help to support local residents, and was held in connection with Delco Gives, a day of giving. YDU’s Executive Director joined representatives of Making a Change Group, The Foundation for Delaware County, and Power Home Remodeling to help plan this festive block party.

The celebration continues and concludes tonight at Rose Tree Park. From 4:30 – 7:30 pm, the evening will feature family-friendly activities, food trucks, and an ice cream giveaway. IHeart Radio will be DJing, Bex and Buster will broadcast live, and Phillie Phanatic, Gritty, and Phang will be making an appearance. Jason Martinez from Fox 29 will MC.

The Foundation for Delaware County coordinated Delco Gives as an opportunity to unite our community around causes in which we truly believe and help nonprofit organizations connect to the larger community. Learn more at the Delco Gives YouTube or Foundation Facebook page.
