Soccer/Nature Camp Returns to Main Street Elementary
For the second straight summer, our soccer/nature club camp at Main Street Elementary was a big hit!
The beloved Ms. Yolanda Jackson and team helped facilitate active play and a delicious well-rounded dinner, while Penn State Extension Educator Lauren Kauffman engaged the eager children in interactive lessons about pollinators, animal adaptations and ecosystem invaders. Additionally, participants were invited to bring home YDU’s usual care packages full of fresh fruit and healthy snacks, backpacks full of school supplies donated by The Foundry Church in Wallingford, and new clothing provided by community partner Mitzvah Circle.
Special thanks to Main Street principal Ms. Medley who participated in the fun, to everyone’s delight.
Earlier in the day, children had been invited to participate in YDU’s basketball/STEM/soccer camp at FiDonce Gym, where lunch was served and more fun was had..
YDU programming is made possible thanks to grants from The Foundation for Delaware County, DCIGRA, The Community’s Foundation, CCRES and other generous organizations and individuals.
