Ice Skating Party Entertains YDU Families
Youth Development United was among a select group of area organizations invited to provide a free ice skating party to its members.
“Our family was super excited to go!” exclaimed YDU mom Christina Adams. “This was my daughters second time going ice skating and they had a blast. They were laughing, playing, and falling together. They were bonding. They are getting the hang of ice skating, I teach them to try something new because they might really enjoy it. This is one thing they are enjoying. We would love to go back ice skating.”
The event took place on Saturday, December 7 at the Delco River Rink, a pop-up attraction at The Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Chester.
Beginning skaters were given gliding aids upon request so all could feel comfortable on the ice and enjoy the party.
The 60×100 outdoor rink is conveniently located underneath the main valet porte cochere right out front of the casino’s main entrance. It is a winter wonderland in a well-lit, secure environment filled with fun for the whole family including festive music, lighting, video and decor, plus free surface lot & garage parking right on site. The rink is open till February 26.
Brittani Hales coordinated this event, and commented: "Through my role as Community Engagement Specialist for Delaware County's Planning Department, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to distribute 4,000 tickets and 12 free skate skating sessions for organizations serving the community. It has been a pleasure providing access to the rink right here in Delaware County. Most people travel outside of the county for winter festivities, I am proud to be able to host such an experience right here in my hometown of Chester, Pennsylvania."
